As part of a special send-off for former players Piszczek and Blaszczykowski, the Polish duo – who played more than 600 games combined for the German giants – faced off against scores of kids at Westfalenstadion on Saturday. Fellow former player Sahin also got involved, with ex-coach Jurgen Klopp watching on from the dugout in a one-off managerial appearance.

While this occasion honoured the former Dortmund players, many eyes are on what Klopp will do next after stepping down as Liverpool boss back in May. The German reportedly turned down the chance to manage the United States men's national team and ruled out managing England, too. Whatever he chooses to do next will certainly attract a lot of interest.

On the matter of what Klopp decides to do next, he gave little away after the Dortmund testimonial. He said: "I'm working, but not as much as I used to. I'm not just doing nothing, but sometimes I am. I don't miss anything!"
