Postecoglou would certainly be a coup. His dismissal by Spurs, while not a shock given a worst-ever Premier League finish, still hurt given that he had just ended the club's 17-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League. That also secured passage into next season's Champions League. Postecoglou had been mocked all year for pointing out that he always wins a trophy in his second season at a team…and then actually did it. He is no stranger to working in Asia, with Australia admitted into AFC in 2005 while he was in charge of the Under-20 national team, before later taking charge of the senior Socceroos, and Japan's Yokohama F. Marinos.
