Paris Saint-Germain have hit back at claims from Barcelona that they made an eye-popping offer for 17-year-old wonderkid Lamine Yamal.

Yamal has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents on the planet after bursting onto the scene and making himself a key player for both Barcelona and Spain. Barcelona president Joan Laporta's adviser Enric Masip has said that Yamal's performances have even drawn a mega offer for the teenager and suggested it came from PSG. "The president has already said that he had an offer of €250 million that he had rejected, that he had never considered it. It came from France," he told . Laporta has also said he rejected a world-record fee of €250m (£211m/$277m) for Yamal from PSG before the summer window. The Ligue 1 giants were on the lookout for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe who left the club when his contract expired and move to Real Madrid. PSG were also linked with a host of other attackers including Victor Osimhen, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Julian Alvarez but missed out on all three as well as Yamal.

Yamal is currently contracted to Barcelona until 2026, and has a €1 billion (£834m/$1.1bn) release clause in his existing deal, but is expected to commit to a longer deal with the Catalan giants when he turns 18 in July 2025. The teenager is currently sidelined with an ankle injury but Barca are hoping he will be part of the squad for their first fixture back after the international break against Celta.
