His pun left presenter Kate Abdo laughing, while Thierry Henry shuffled his notes and Jamie Carragher hid a smirk in the seat next to the England international. Richards also made a joke about David Beckham's recent appearance on the network which had the same impact on his co-stars.

When Abdo asked Henry about Brest playing Borussia Dortmund – two teams with a 100% record in the Champions League – the former France international said: "It's a big one", sparking an initial reaction from the panel. Richards chimed in with his opinion, adding: "A bit lopsided I think", before laughs could be heard from behind the camera.
