The agent of Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has revealed that his client wants to leave Old Trafford this summer, which has handed Tottenham Hotspur a huge boost in their pursuit of the Frenchman.
Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley told RMC Sport:
“After considering all possibilities and options, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United. There are many reasons, for now it is too early to discuss it. Anthony will talk soon to go through that.”
Martial has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham since the end of last term, with the Frenchman believed to be unhappy with his lack of minutes last season.
The 22-year-old scored 11 times and registered nine assists for the Red Devils last term, but struggled for football in the second half of the campaign.
Indeed, there is no getting away from the fact that Alexis Sanchez’s January arrival from Arsenal really harmed Martial’s minutes on the field.
The attacker missed out on a spot in the France squad for the 2018 World Cup due to his struggles in the second half of the season, and is now seemingly keen to move on.
