Speaking in an interview with , Mendes praised Ronaldo’s remarkable career and his relentless pursuit of excellence as he stated: "Cristiano continues to score goal after goal, break record after record and enjoy what he does so well. Mendes also pointed to Ronaldo's career as a blueprint for aspiring footballers, including Barcelona's teenage sensation Lamine Yamal. The Portuguese agent, who now represents Yamal, urged the young Golden Boy winner to emulate Ronaldo’s discipline, work ethic, and focus to achieve similar greatness.
“I don’t like to make comparisons, but Cristiano is undoubtedly a good example to follow, not only for Lamine but for all young players. If he follows his example on and off the pitch, he will certainly be at the top of world football in the next 20 years," he said.
Mendes is optimistic about his potential, predicting a stellar career for the young player if he avoids distractions and remains focused.
"Lamine is, without a doubt, a player with phenomenal talent, who surpasses everyone else, and he is only 17 years old! If he doesn’t get distracted and always stays focused, I have no doubt that Lamine will win the Ballon d’Or, not once, but several times,” he added.
